Samsung Galaxy Note 5
I bought the Note 5 about a week after it was released. I bought the Gold one and I have to say that I have read a lot of online reviews of several flagships before I finally decided to buy the Note 5.
Why did I NOT choose the galaxy edge plus? It's because of the curved screen, though the curved screen really looks good, but it doesn't really have a feature that makes it work.
What's good about Note 5? The stylus! I use it about 10 to 20 percent of the time. Here's the thing, when I need it, the feature provided fullfills the features I need. The color quality of the front camera is what I loved. I was using the Note 5 for about 3 months before I switched to LG V10, when I took my first selfie on LG V10, I looked unhealthy and dull haha! That was one the changes that I had to get used to when I switched to LG V10.
LG V10 combined with comparison with Note 5
I sold my Note 5 in a snap when I went with my friends to buy his new phone but I ended up selling mine when I was drooling to get the LG V10. Haha. This one is better than my Note 5 anyway.
Why I sold my Note 5? Sacrificing the stylus of the Note 5, I get a dual front camera for additional option of a wider display, the rugged but premium appearance, Ultimate Customization!, buttons at the back and the Double Tap!
Front camera
The dual front camera is great, the auto and manual mode of the camera is the best of all phones - Note 5 color produces lively colors but LGV10 produces true color. Those people coming from samsung phone should get some time to adjust with the color LG phone produces. You'll get used to it and will love it after a week or two.
The appearance
Although the Note 5 has this super premium look because of its reflective gold which I really really liked. My major concern about my Note 5 was the feeling that it may get scratches when holding it without the case. Those finger smudges isn't an issue, you can just wipe them of anyway. LG V10 on the other hand has this strong premium look, looks like a strong rubber plastic with reflective golds on its side. Both phones are the best in their appearance!
Customization
Although Samsung features more themes in its app store for icons, lockscreen and wallpapers. But LG stands out in this category. LG V10 just offers true customization and covers what I need especially the navigation buttons that Samsung Note 5 does not offer.
LG V10 simply offer 50% more on the table to fit the user experience that you really want.
Hardware and software buttons and the Double Tap
Samsung offers a fingerprint home button in front with capacitive tab and back on the its side. Power and volume buttons on the right side. LG V10 offers figerprint power button and volume buttons on its back. The navigation button is part of the screen and it's customizable! I have to say that it was the best thing why most people stay away from LG phone hahahaha!! People are slow in getting to know its potential... Or LG is the one slow.You can exchange the buttons to the way it fits you. In my case, my navigation buttons are the same as my Note 5 where the back button is on the right.
Right now, I'm using a flip case for my LG V10. Everytime i open it, it automatically unlocks because my finger is already placed at the power button on the back! Amazing!
The LG double tap feature of the LG V10 is the one I really liked since my first LG phone (LG G2). If you are wondering how to unlock the phone when placed on the table, you just need to double tap the screen to turn on and the same to turn it off. You can also choose a tap pattern to unlock the phone!
Conclusion
The Samsung Note 5 is a really great phone, non replaceable battery and no micro SD card slot isn't an issue. You only need to learn how to use Google Drive or One Drive to solve your storage issues. The availability of accessories are nice, something I lost when I transferred to LG V10. I had a Case+Battery on my Note 5 and it was the best case ever!
LG on the other hand has a limited availability in the market. Although I have the LG bluetooth headset and the extra battery pack for the accessory. Something happened and it was not a big deal but became a big deal soon after. My broken extension cord destroyed my charger and I could not find any! Right now, I am only using a slow charger and it really annoys me. Anyway, they told me that it is available in SM Megamall, I will check that out when I have time to go there.
