Cherry Mobile Ace Review (Firefox OS)

I was in search for a less than 1500 pesos worth of phone.After a thorough search in several cellphone shops at the mall. I stumbled upon Cherry mobile Ace for 999 pesos touchscreen phone running Firefox OS, I knew I had to buy this phone but the story only started there.

I'll make it direct to the point as possible.
This phone is the hardest phone to use. I really could have bought a candy bar phone instead.

1. The hardest part in using this phone is when typing texts. It ridiculously erroneous. It has like a totally uncallibrated screen when typing on its onscreen keyboard. It takes more than a minute to type a simple sentence or word.

2. The phone will not alert you of calls and text messages unless you unlock the phone. The phone is set to normal profile and in most cases, it will not even ring once. I missed important calls and that is the worst thing. When i unlocked the phone, that is the only time notifications starts to come in.

3. firefox browser is pretty descent. I was able to browse facebook, yahoo, google with ease. complete with photo and website texts. Take note that you have to log in again to facebook when you restart the browser but i take it as a plus for me.

4. Music player plays limited mp3 bitrate. I haven't figured out the maximum bitrate that it can read. Almost all my mp3 files are in 320 kbps and it didn't show within the music player.

5. The earphone included in the package works, but I prefer using an in-ear earphone. I tried to use my SONY in-ear earphone but it is not compatible. Maybe any other earphone without mic will work here.

6. Firefox marketplace.  I did not bother much browsing the market place but I found some great apps there.  I tried soundcloud which works and it is good and the calculator app also. When it comes gaming like cut the rope, it is slow which makes the game not enjoyable. Maybe card games like solitaire will most likely work here.

As much as i wanted to try firefox os but this phone is frustrating. If only It could change the keyboard into a NUMPAD layout instead of a QWERTY keybpard layout, it could have been useful.
